Bob Oberstein, CPA/PFS formed and became Managing Partner of Oberstein Stock & Friedenthal, LLP in 2002. That same year, he also founded OSF Wealth Management, LLC, the predecessor to his current wealth management firm, Oberstein Wealth Management, Inc. Bob has been involved in public accounting and financial planning for nearly 40 years. His professional experience prior to the formation of OSF includes 11 years as partner heading the small business department with Good Swartz Brown & Berns. At OSF LLP, Bob is responsible for his firm’s tax practice quality control and the personal financial planning department.
Originally hailing from the Bronx, New York, Bob attended California State University, Northridge where he earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration. He earned his Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Bob is a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), a designation that has been obtained by only a limited number of California Certified Public Accountants. He is licensed by the California Department of Insurance, and holds membership in both the California Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, he is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
An accomplished long distance runner, Bob has completed marathons and half marathons in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami, Washington D.C. and Disneyland. He has completed the Los Angeles Triathlon, his first foray into the sport. Bob has also has logged over 1,500 miles on his bike doing long distance rides throughout Canada, the US eastern seaboard, the California coastline, and Western Europe. His athletic journey began in 1994 when he scaled Mt. Whitney, the tallest peak in the continental United Sates.
